Introduction

This cabbage soup is a light, healing recipe traditionally used to reduce muscle and joint pain. It’s full of antioxidants and vitamins, making it both comforting and restorative.

 

Ingredients

1 medium head of cabbage, chopped

1–2 onions, sliced

2–3 cloves garlic (optional)

1–2 tablespoons olive oil

4–6 cups vegetable or chicken broth

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: herbs like parsley, thyme, or bay leaf for extra flavor

Instructions

Prepare the vegetables: Wash and chop the cabbage and onions. Mince the garlic if using.

Sauté aromatics: In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant and soft.

Add cabbage: Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly wilted.

Add broth: Pour in the broth to cover the vegetables. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

Simmer: Cover and cook for 20–30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.

Season: Add salt, pepper, and any optional herbs to taste.
