Cheese and Jalapeño Puff Pastry Twists Recipe

Ingredients:

 

1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1-2 fresh jalapeños, sliced thinly

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

 

Prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and well-combined.

Roll out the puff pastry: Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread the cheese mixture evenly across the pastry, leaving a small border on all sides. Place the thin slices of jalapeño evenly over the cheese mixture.

Cut and twist: Cut the pastry into strips (about 1 inch wide). Carefully twist each strip into a spiral shape, ensuring the filling stays inside.

Prepare the egg wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the twists for a golden finish. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and chopped chives over the top.

Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Allow the twists to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your cheesy, spicy puff pastry twists!
