Ingredients:
3–4 medium potatoes (boiled & mashed)
2 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 small onion (finely chopped, optional)
½ tsp salt (or to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika (optional)
Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Prepare the mixture
Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth (no lumps).
Add cornstarch, herbs, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Mix well until it forms a soft dough.
2. Shape
Take small portions and roll into balls.
Flatten slightly to form thick discs (like in your image).
3. Chill (important)
Place them on a tray and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes.
This helps them hold shape while frying.
4. Fry
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry each cake for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve
Serve hot with ketchup, garlic sauce, or yogurt dip.
🔥 Tips:
If mixture is too soft → add a bit more cornstarch.
For extra crispiness → coat lightly in breadcrumbs before frying.
You can also bake at 200°C (400°F) for ~25 minutes (flip halfway).
