Pull-Apart Garlic Butter Cheese Bread (Skillet Style)

Ingredients

 

Dough

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp instant yeast

1 tsp sugar

¾ tsp salt

¾ cup warm milk

1 tbsp olive oil

Garlic Butter

3 tbsp butter (melted)

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Pinch of salt

Filling

1 to 1½ cups shredded mozzarella

¼ cup cheddar (optional for extra flavor)

Topping

1 tbsp butter (melted)

1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1. Make the Dough

In a bowl mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

Add warm milk and olive oil.

Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.

Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.

2. Prepare Garlic Butter

Mix together:

 

Melted butter

Minced garlic

Parsley

Pinch of salt

Set aside.

 

3. Shape the Bread

Roll dough into a large circle (about 10–12 inches).

Brush with garlic butter.

Sprinkle cheese evenly.

Cut the dough into strips or squares.

Stack or fold pieces loosely to create a pull-apart effect.

4. Cook in Skillet

Grease a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan.

Place the dough pieces inside.

Cover and cook on low heat for 15–20 minutes until bottom is golden.

(Or bake in oven at 375°F / 190°C for 18–20 minutes.)

 

5. Finish

Brush top with more garlic butter.

Sprinkle sesame seeds.

Let cheese melt and serve warm.

Tips for Perfect Pull-Apart Bread

✔ Use low heat so the inside cooks fully.

✔ Add parmesan for extra flavor.

✔ Brush with garlic butter twice (before and after cooking).
