Recipe: Simple Glazed Carrots
This sweet and savory glazed carrot recipe is a family favorite, especially in the spring. Every time my mother-in-law makes it, the pan is wiped clean! It’s so easy to make with just three ingredients and has the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. Perfect as a side dish for any meal.
Ingredients:
1 lb baby carrots
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions:
Cook the carrots: In a medium-sized saucepan, add the baby carrots and enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil and cook until the carrots are tender, about 10-12 minutes.
Make the glaze: While the carrots cook, melt the butter in a separate pan over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the brown sugar and cook for a few minutes until the mixture is smooth and thickens slightly.
Combine: Drain the carrots and add them to the pan with the brown sugar and butter mixture. Stir gently to coat the carrots in the glaze, then let them simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken and caramelize slightly.
Serve these delicious glazed carrots as a sweet and savory side dish!
Yum!
