Ingredients

 

Dough:

 

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup warm milk

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp instant yeast

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 egg

Filling:

 

1 cup crumbled cheese (feta, mozzarella, or any you like)

2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions

Optional: cooked minced meat or mashed potatoes

For brushing:

 

1 egg yolk

1 tbsp milk

👩‍🍳 Instructions

 

Prepare the dough

In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Add egg, oil, salt, and flour gradually.

Knead until soft and smooth (about 8–10 minutes).

Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.

Make the filling

Mix cheese with parsley (and any optional filling).

Shape the buns

Divide dough into small balls.

Roll each into a strip or oval.

Add filling in the center, then fold and seal.

Shape into rings or twists like in the picture.

Second rise

Place on a baking tray, cover, and let rest 20–30 minutes.

Bake

Brush with egg yolk + milk.

Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.

😋 Tips

 

Add sesame seeds or nigella seeds on top for extra flavor.

Serve warm — they’re soft, cheesy, and irresistible!
